About the Role
The FP&A Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping Oritain’s financial direction, owning end-to-end financial planning, forecasting and performance insight across the business. Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, this role will turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insight that drives strategic decisions and supports sustainable growth. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and wants to influence at the heart of the business.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of delivering accurate and timely forecasts, budgets and strategic financial plans that support decision-making across the business. You will help define and performance-manage key financial and commercial KPIs, working closely with the Business and Revenue Finance Partner to plan, report on and challenge revenue performance.
You will build and maintain financial models to support business planning, investment cases and scenario analysis, while continually improving the depth and quality of insights from reporting- including areas such as retention, revenue drivers and contract profitability. A core part of your role will be to provide clear, actionable financial insight and recommendations to senior management in support of strategic initiatives.
You will monitor financial performance on a monthly basis against budget and forecast, identifying key variances, understanding their drivers and translating these into practical actions. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will ensure financial targets are well understood, aligned and embedded across the organisation.
You will also support the preparation of board reports, investor materials and executive dashboards, helping tell a clear and compelling story behind the numbers. Alongside this, you will drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools and reporting capabilities, while ensuring strong compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting foundations and at least five years’ experience in an FP&A or commercial finance role. You’ll bring excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build robust financial models and translate complex data into clear, actionable insight.
You’ll be an effective communicator who is comfortable influencing and building strong relationships across functions and with senior stakeholders. Advanced Excel skills are essential, and you’ll be confident working with ERP systems and financial planning tools such as SAP, Oracle, Anaplan or Power BI.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment would be highly beneficial, as this role suits someone who thrives on change, ambiguity and continuous improvement, and who enjoys being hands-on while operating at a strategic level.
